Like many of the common narcotic street drugs available today, the original uses of methamphetamine were innocent and medicinal in nature.   The drug, initially marketed as Benzedrine, was first used in the 1920s in bronchial inhalers and as a nasal decongestant.

Detox centers are usually the first stop on the path to addiction recovery. A detox center is where an addict goes for the first few days after they stop consuming alcohol or drugs. Withdrawal from these substances can make an addict ill and be very painful. Detox can be dangerous and even life-threatening, so it should always be done under medical supervision.
